Mount Mercy University is a long-standing institution of higher education known for offering small classes with a lot of one-on-one interaction with professors and an intimate campus.

Bridging the Gap

Being such a small university, they have a fiercely proud and loyal group of alumni. They came to us to find a unique and entertaining way to tap into this audience to help them garner donations that would fill the gap between state funding and larger private donations.

They wanted a new way to communicate with recent graduates in order to raise funds for this specific “gap” in funding and encourage early habits of giving back to their Alma Mater.

Building Character

In order to clearly explain this need to the target audience, we needed to understand it.

Through client interviews and conducting research we came up with a way to take this complex idea and whittled it down to the most easily digestible parts and turned them into a compelling script featuring two animated characters.

Fusionfarm created custom animation for this 2-minute fundraising video. This video is housed on Mount Mercy University’s website and was also emailed to a list of recent grads.

A Bumper Crop

MMU has found this to be a successful fundraising campaign and are very happy with the creative. This video won a 2015 Gold CASE award for Fundraising Videos from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
